Viewing references for an item

An item is assigned at least one reference: either an approved reference from the reference library, or a reference note, which the reference librarian may later use to create a new, approved reference.

Note: The following shows references for a single selection multiple choice item (SSMC). Screens may look different for likert, multiple selection multiple choice items (MSMC), hotspot items, survey items, and static items.

To view the references assigned to an item:

2. Navigate to the item's References tab (highlighted in green, below). All references for that item will appear in the Existing References field:

3. In the example above, the item has two different types of references assigned to it:

A. Reference notes: the user entered a note about an item and also attached a .png file. You can download a file by clicking the Download Attachment button and saving the file to a local or network drive.

B. Approved reference: the user assigned an approved reference—A Fetal Echocardiography. You can view reference details by clicking the View Details button next to the reference to open the Reference Detail screen:

You can also view the reference's citation detail by clicking the binoculars button next to the Citation field to open a View Citations window:

4. If you are authorized, you can edit/delete the item's existing references or assign additional references to the item.
