Viewing content of an item

Note: The following shows content of a single selection multiple choice item (SSMC). Screens may look different for likert, multiple selection multiple choice items (MSMC), hotspot items, survey items, and static items.

To view an item's content:

1. Search for and open an item.

2. Navigate to the item's Content tab (highlighted in red, below).

3. Content tab provides an Item Word Count (highlighted in red, below) for the item content. Selecting the Item Word Count hyperlink will open the Item Word Count dialog. This dialog will provide a statistical breakdown of the word count.

The Item Total consists of the following:

Text: The number of words used.
Exhibit(s): The summation of all exhibits multiplied by their section default or custom word valuation.

3. Equation(s): The summation of all equations within the Content multiplied by their section default or custom word valuation.

The dialog contains a breakdown of the usage in the item's Stem and Answer Choices.

4. If the item contains an associated passage then the Content tab also provides a Passage Word Count (highlighted in red, below) for the passage content. Selecting the Passage Word Count hyperlink will open the Passage Word Count dialog. This dialog will provide a statistical breakdown of the word count.

The Passage Total consists of the following:

Text: The number of words used in the Content.
Exhibit(s): The summation of all exhibits within the Content multiplied by their section default or custom word valuation.

3. Equation(s): The summation of all equations within the Content multiplied by their section default or custom word valuation.
